We report world first HD-3D video transmission over 100m perfluoritnated GI-POF. We developed CWDM optical HDMI extender utilizing four lasers with different wavelengths (780, 810, 850 and 980 nm). Optical HDMI extender consists of two units. One is Transmitter that convert conventional electrical HDMI signal to optical signal with four wavelengths, and the other is Receiver that convert multi-wavelengths optical signal to electrical HDMI signal. Optical signal with four wavelength is transmitted over single core GI-POF. Data rate of each wavelength is 2.5Gbps, and maximum data rate reach to 10Gbps. It is capable to transmit 1080P non compressed HD video signal. Utilizing commercial available 3D camcorder (SONY: HDR-TD10) and 4K2K LCD TV (Toshiba: Regza 55X3), we successfully demonstrated 3D video transmission without 3D glass using 100m GI-POF simplex cable. The core size of GI-POF is 80 μm with 400 MHz*km bandwidth. The insertion loss of cable was 4.4 dB at 850 nm. This demonstration shows wide capability of perfluoritnated GIPOF for consumer electronics applications.
