N2 - An advocated advantage of Microgrids (MGs) is that they can potentially be disconnected from the main power grid and operate autonomously. This work compares the feasible duration of islanded operation following on-grid operation regulated by different control strategies, in particular, cost minimization, loss minimization, maximum local use of generated energy, maximum potential islanding time (PIT). In the analyzed scenarios, a maximum of 1174 minutes of autonomous operation could be achieved, when resources are specifically optimized to regard PIT in on-grid operation.
