抄録

A 58-year old female complained of left back pain. IVP disclosed left hydronephrosis due to the stenosis of the left ureter. Left partial ureterectomy and end to end anastomosis of the left ureter were performed. The frozen section of the specimen during the operation revealed no malignancy. The diagnosis of amyloidosis of the ureter was confirmed using paraffin-embedded material. Gastroduodenal biopsies were negative for amyloid. The other laboratory tests for amyloidosis were negative and the final diagnosis was localized amyloidosis of the ureter.
