N2 - The magnetic susceptibility χ and the electrical resistivity ρ{variant} of CrGe1-xSix (0{slanted equal to or less-than}x{slanted equal to or less-than}0.15) are measured in the temperature ranges of 4.2-420 K and 4.2-300 K, respectively. The magnetic susceptibility at high temperatures satisfies the Curie-Weiss type relation: χ = C (T-Θp), where C(≈0.5 emu K mol) is roughly constant independent of Si content and Θp decreases from -376 to -462 K with increasing Si content. A maximum or a trace of the maximum is observed around Tmax in χ for 0{slanted equal to or less-than}x{slanted equal to or less-than}0.15, and this anomalous behaviour becomes indistinct and Tmax increases with increasing Si content. The electrical resistivity has a T2 dependence with large coefficients A (6.3x10-9-10.5x10-9 Ω cm{plus 45 degree rule}K2) at low temperatures, and the tendency for saturation is observed in the ρ{variant}-T curve at high temperatures. These behaviours are discussed in terms of the spin fluctuation theory for nearly ferromagnetic metals. We conclude that CrGe1-xSix (0{slanted equal to or less-than}x{slanted equal to or less-than}0.15) is a nearly ferromagnetic metal and the degree of electron correlation decreases systematically with increasing x.
