The effects of fiber length mismatch in a coherence multiplexed fiber optic sub carrier transmission system are investigated. We derive the carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) considering the differential length mismatch in the two fibers connecting the transmitter to the receiver. It is determined that an optimum linewidth to maximize the CNR exists for a given mismatch length. The maximum mismatch length that the system can achieve the CNR≥17 dB is found. We show the system capacity and the maximum bandwidth per channel for a given mismatch length. As a result, our quantitative results will be effective in designing the coherence multiplexed fiber optic subcarrier transmission system.
