N2 - We propose an N × N input and output queuing packet switch with multiple priority classes which can be used to support traffics with different performance requirements. Nonpreemptive priority discipline is used at the input queueing, and first-come first-served (FCFS) discipline is used at the output queueing without priorities. We analyze the system delay of every priority class for the asynchronous system with Poisson arrivals as well as the synchronous system with Bernoulli arrivals. We also consider the loss probability of the first priority packets for the system where the number of the buffer sizes for first priority packets is limited by computer simulation. It is found that the proposed models are useful to reduce the queueing delay for high priority packets.
