Conducting polymer particles were prepared by mini-emulsion polymerization. We used o-Toluidine as a monomer instead of aniline because of its low solubility for water. We used ammonium persulfate as an oxidant. And sodium dodecyl sulfate, cetyl alcohol, and polyvinylpyrrolidone were used as addition agents to get particles. We also prepared polyaniline particles by dispersion polymerization and polyaniline-polystyrene composite particles by seeded polymerization. Then we compared particles prepared by miniemulsion polymerization with particles prepared by dispersion polymerization or seeded polymerization. These polymer particles were characterized by electron microscope, FT-IR, conductivity measurement and so on. After doping of hydro chloride, a pellet of the poly(o-Toluidine) particles had a conductivity of 2.35×10-3S/cm.
