Using the particle monolayers, we intended to control, cellular adhesion, shape and structure. To make a cell sheet, cells were seeded onto a particle monolayer at the high density. Cells were spontaneously detached from the culture dish just by shaking. Then, BSA molecules were immobilized onto the particle monolayor by the photolithography. Endothdial cells were seeded on the patterned particle monolayer. It could be observed that cells preferentially adhered on the region where BSA. molecules were not immobilized. Individual cells were extended to a certain, direction and it seemed that their assembly was oriented in the same direction.
