Theoretical study of the high power pulsed vibrational overtone HF chemical laser

    We have theoretically investigated the output performance of the pulsed discharge initiated H2/SF6 nonchain and H2/F2 chain first vibrational overtone HF chemical lasers. A novel computer model including rotational relaxation processes which can simulate simultaneously both fundamental and overtone lasings has been constructed to analyze the relationship between resonator conditions and laser gains. We have also investigated the effects of the residual reflectivity (undesirable reflectivity in the fundamental lasing band).
